Clinical experience:   I spent the early portion of my career working at a well-known, long-term treatment facility for addictions, behavioral issues, personality disorders, etc.  We focused a lot on dysfunctional family of origin dynamics, trauma, and teaching effective coping skills for regulating emotion.  Since 2017 I have been in private practice specializing in trauma and addiction (which I believe go hand in hand).  In particular - complex trauma, early trauma intervention, attachment trauma, and dissociative disorders.  I utilize a trauma-informed approach with all clients and conceptualize all cases through that framework.  I believe it’s important for clients to dig deep and do their work in order to heal old wounds and to stop dysfunctional patterns from continuing.  I do a lot of EMDR therapy and provide consultation to new EMDR clinicians who are interested in improving their skills and getting certified.  I founded the Southeast Florida Trauma Recovery Network which is a group of volunteer EMDR therapists who respond to community disasters by providing pro bono EMDR therapy to survivors.
