Clinical Experience: One of the key factors in becoming a great social worker and therapist is ongoing supervision and mentorship. Graduate school provides you with the foundational knowledge and theory; but true clinical skills are developed and sharpened in practice. My experience ultimately led me to my true passion of helping clients grow and heal through the process of self-discovery. In my private practice I am able to see the clients that I most prefer and thus able to sharpen my skills with that particular population. I offer supervision to social worker interns, assisting in preparation for the clinical exam. I also want to extend the intern experience to those that are interested in private practice. My goal is not only to help you help your clients but also to help you grow your skills and confidence as a clinician for business endeavors in the future.
Areas of Interest: My clinical experience includes working with juveniles in a residential facility, community-based mental health with children, adults and families, applied behavioral analysis and private practice.

Her clinical and research expertise is the treatment of grief and loss, trauma, and prevention and treatment of substance use disorders at a Brown University-based birthing hospital. Her recent peer-reviewed publications focus on factors associated with adherence to standard of care and the use of shared decision making with pregnant women presenting with opioid use disorder. Her publications emphasize the importance of decreasing stigma for perinatal women who are opioid dependent, and encompass medicine, social work, and education, focusing primarily on health disparities and public health responses to maternal substance use.

There’s no one right way to do things, and while I am happy to share my own thoughts and experiences with similar situations, the best way I serve you as a supervisor is to help you feel supported, feel grounded in the principles and values of our work, and find your genuine voice in your client-therapist relationships as well as other professional relationships.
